HEALTH & WELLBEING MONTH
“The Most Abundant Blessing We Are Born With Is the Gift of Our Breath”
It’s a word we hear so often – but how often do we actually feel it?
In a world that celebrates hustle and productivity, it’s easy to lose touch with the deeper rhythm of life – the one that knows when to move and when to rest.
When to give and when to receive.
When to lead and when to simply be.
Here at LYBL, we believe that health and wellbeing doesn’t start with doing more.
It starts with listening more.
To your body.
To your energy.
To your truth.
⚖️ What Is Work-Life Balance Really?
It’s not about achieving a perfect split between work and personal time. It’s about creating space in your life where both can co-exist in harmony. It’s about asking:
- “Am I present in my work and in my life?”
- “Am I honouring both my ambitions and my wellbeing?”
- “Am I working to live… or living just to work?”
Signs You Might Be Out of Balance
- You’re constantly tired, even after rest
- You feel disconnected from what lights you up
- Your relationships are running on empty
- You struggle to switch off – mentally and emotionally
If any of this resonates, take it as an invitation -not a judgment.
It’s okay to recalibrate.
It’s okay to choose you.
5 Ways to Begin Rebalancing Today
1. Start with Self-Awareness Notice what drains you. Notice what fuels you. Tune into your own energy levels throughout the day.
2. Honor Your Non-Negotiables Sleep. Water. Movement. Breath. Boundaries. These are not luxuries – they are lifelines.
3. Reclaim Sacred Time Book you into your own calendar. Whether it’s 15minutes of quiet, an afternoon walk, or Sunday off your phone – reclaim time for your soul.
4. Learn the Power of “No, Thank You” You do not need to be everything to everyone. Saying no to one thing opens up space to say yes to what really matters.
5. Check in With Your WHY Why do you do what you do? Reconnect with the bigger picture of your life, not just the busyness of your days.
Words to Remember
“Balance is not something you find. It’s something you create – moment by moment.”
– Michele Jones-
Try This Simple Practice This Week:
Before you start your day, ask:
“What would make today feel balanced for me?”

And you deserve to feel good in both your work and your life.

Hi Best Lifer,
This month, being August, we’re shining a light on Health & Wellbeing – a space on the Wheel of Life where so many of us start to gently (or sometimes abruptly) feel the nudge to realign.
Especially with the promise of Spring (in the Southern Hemisphere anyhow), just around the corner!
And for me, last night, that nudge came in the form of breath.
I had the privilege of participating in a powerful Breathwork session with Jenny Lee Taylor from Breathe and Be You – and it stirred something deep in my being.
It reminded me of how the breath is not just the thing that keeps us alive… it’s the very thread that connects our mind, body, and spirit.
Every cell in our body holds memory – of joy, of pain, of triumph, and of trauma.
And sometimes, those emotions and energies sit silently within us, until we consciously choose to breathe them through.
To honour them.
To let them go.
As someone who also practices yoga and pranayama, who uses her breath to access energy, stillness, music, laughter and voice – this was another beautiful and timely reminder: our breath is our lifeforce.
It is the universal vibrational frequency that connects us to everything that is.
Lately, I’ve felt the closeness of death around me.
6 people passing within my family or circle of friends in the past 3 weeks alone.
Moreso, the passing of Darren Parkes, my friend of 40 years, still echoes through my heart each and every day.
And yet, here I am, breathing.
Alive.
It’s humbling to sit with the truth that our entire existence is measured between our first and our last breath.
What we do with the breath in between is what shapes our lives.
That space – that sacred dash between beginning and end – is where Living Your Best Life truly happens.
Who we decide and claim to be each morning as we wake.
So this month, I invite you to breathe with intention.
Not just to survive, but to feel.
To heal.
To energise.
Whether it’s through a quiet moment of stillness, a joyful belly laugh, a deep cry, a heart-opening breathwork journey, a Level 3 bush hike, or a hard, sweaty gym session where you lose yourself in the beat of your own determination – just breathe.
Ask yourself:
- Where am I holding tension, grief, or unspoken truth?
- Where can I soften and breathe into my body?
- How can I use my breath to come back to myself today?
Let your breath be your teacher.
Let it be your guide back home.
Because in the end, it’s not just about living longer.
It’s about living deeper.
More present.
More awake.
More alive.
With every breath,
Live Your Best Life.
Big love always,

When Michele was on her own cancer journey, the Cancer Council was one of the only charity organisations around at the time to support her.
They provided not only a small financial contribution to assist with treatment but were there to lend an ear and offer support and advice.
15 years on after being cancer free and cleared from her diagnosis, Michele believes that you should always remember who were there for you in your darkest hours and time of needs, so with that said, we here at LYBL are an avid supporter of this special day.
Michele and her Mum even plant Daffodil bulbs into their gardens as Autumn turns here in the Southern Hemisphere as a reminder to always give back and always be grateful.
If you feel you have something to give, then please go directly to the link below to be connected directly to the Cancer Council in support of their Daffodil Appeal.
For all that cancer takes, give all that you can this
Daffodil Day.
Join thousands supporting cancer research.
Cancer Council has funded lifesaving breakthroughs in cancer research over the years. This research wouldn’t be possible without the support of thousands of donors.
