NOT ALL GUIDANCE WILL BE LITERAL
Learning to distinguish intuition from fear will increase your intuitive hits.
You’ll also become better and better at interpreting some of the less literal messages your intuitive guidance is trying to deliver. Very few people will receive the kind of guidance that involves hearing very real, distinct voices or seeing images in their mind telling them what to do.
People with that level of sensitivity move into psychic spheres of clairvoyance. For most of us, it will usually come in the form of a thought, a feeling or a dream.
It may even be something more obviously attention-grabbing, such as five people telling you to read the same book, until you finally get the message and succumb to the purchase.
Not all guidance will be literal.
Some you may have to interpret. This will mean recognising some of the less obvious signs that your intuition is trying to reach you. These signs will often be symbolic.
For example, a friend of mine, Julie, has a strong symbolic attachment to butterflies. They remind her of her father who has passed away, because her father had such a huge love for them.
Not only is she reminded of him, but also depending on what is going on in her life at the time, a butterfly can represent that her father is sending guidance.
It seems a strong coincidence that whenever she’s confused about something, she may notice a butterfly in a garden, or a picture of one in a magazine or hanging somewhere in a café. It doesn’t matter what form it comes in, but when she sees a butterfly of any kind, it symbolically reminds her of her dad. It also makes her consider what he would say about the dilemma. This is usually enough to jog her out of the confusion and into clarity. The symbol reminds her to run in to herself and the answer.
Similarly, for me, the simple raising of hairs on my arm and an energetic vibration I have external to me tells me symbolically that I have heard or spoken the truth.
When that happens, I know not to ignore what was just said, but to pay special attention to it, and to proceed from that realisation to the course of action it is directing me to take.
