LIMITING BELIEFS

As I work with and guide people to assist them get what they want from their lives, I find that there are many unproductive thoughts and ruling ideas running around in their minds, just like a rubbish tip, dumping rubbish here and there and as a result littering many a mind.

I call them ‘limiting beliefs’ since these ideas restrict and limit my clients’ worlds.

Limiting beliefs are so deeply rooted in experience and so wonderfully steeped in evidence that they colour the lens through which you look at your entire life and the world itself.

You can always find evidence to back up a belief you back.

They permeate all of your thoughts, and influence what you say and do.

Limiting beliefs… they are boss.

After years of coaching others, it’s become clear to me that limiting beliefs tend to be a much needed root of all-evil to allow growth and shift to occur. The relationship you can grow to understand between your limiting beliefs and how they play out in your world can also be the very thing that sets you free.

For you see, limiting beliefs tend to be the driving force behind not getting positive results in your life, and eventually as you start to awaken you will get to a point where enough is enough.

You will desire them to work for you rather than against you. For this to occur however, bringing awareness to them is essential.

My clients always seem to have the answers and they basically always know what to do, so why aren’t they doing it? In almost every case, taking positive action meant overcoming a fear or examining a long-held assumption. Easier to not do the work.

Fears and assumptions are both limiting beliefs, thoughts that are so well integrated into your life that they feel right even though they may actually be wrong. Training and reprogramming the brain to give you the thought that both feels right and is right is what this strategy is all about.

Your brain contains truckloads and truckloads of rational thought; we spend our entire lives justifying the crap out of everything. And even though we spend most of our waking hours in this state, it is pertinent to also acknowledge the wisdom that is residing within us too.

However, just because you think something, doesn’t mean it is true or that you should believe it.
