Allow them to empower you

Darkness is required for you to experience light.

A lot of conversations with clients & friends of late have been centred around this theme.

I love this…however, what I have noticed is that most people don’t love it when they are in darkness, they only know who to be & how to be when in the light.

In fact it’s the very reason why LYBL was born & also why we chose black & white as part of its brand – it’s the constant balance we are seeking & without the other we can never truly experience fulfillment.

If we have never experienced darkness how would we know when we’ve arrived at a place of fulfilment?

They compliment one another

This quote by Sun Tzu sums it up wonderfully.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.

If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.

If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Knowing the enemy in this instance relates wholly & soully to knowing yourself – your dark side.

When you only know the side of you that resides in the light but not the other side of you that resides in darkness you will tend to demolish everything you ever build.

Have you ever sabotaged something you worked hard for?

Health? Fitness? Finances? Relationship? Dream job?

You are not alone.

For every win you will suffer an equal loss.

If you know neither your side in the light or the dark you will wind up losing every battle.

However, when you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not ever fear the result of a hundred battles.

This is when you will be able to ask yourself…

“Is this the journey for me right now?”

Am I making conscious or automatic decisions?

In all moments of decision our destiny is shaped, so when we get to know our enemy & ourself we tend to make higher quality decisions that move us forward rather than backward.

We can never experience true love without experiencing fear.

Embrace your fears & all of you that is dark & you will be surprised how love steps in & will move you to the light.
